Re-skinning branded games for kiosks

We re-styled finished HTML5 games for an events-technology company: portrait screens, new graphics, language versions and repeat re-skins.

portrait screens at brand events · Our role: re-styling, re-branding and reformatting finished games

The brief

The client builds interactive kiosks and screens for brand events. Its games run on a shared game framework, and every new campaign needs a game that fits the brand it is made for, quickly. Instead of building each game from scratch, it needed a dependable outside team that could take a finished game and reshape it.

What we did

  • Landscape to portrait. We turned a finished Construct 3 game into a portrait layout at 1080 × 1920 for a portrait TV screen, removed the buttons the screen did not need, and applied the client's new graphic design. It was a fixed price in two milestones, and both were approved first time, about a month after the first call.
  • A full re-brand. For another game we applied a new set of graphics and moved the layout to match the client's design files. We quoted four to five working days and worked on our own branch inside the client's code repository, following their framework.
  • Language versions. The same game delivered in English and in French.
  • New assets for a launch. In a later round we swapped in new icons, copy and images ahead of a campaign going live, and when the client's approvals slipped past our planned break, they held the job until we were back.

How we worked

  • A short call first. We met the client's team the day we applied, went through the existing game and the new graphics, and started with a clear first milestone.
  • Daily updates in the client's team chat, and updated builds shared as we went.
  • Inside their code. We used their repository and conventions, so each game could go straight back into their framework.

A client who came back

The client returned several times between early 2023 and late 2024, for new games, new graphics and a new campaign launch. Repeat work is the result we value most.
