The brief

Asafeer runs 3asafeer.com, an Arabic reading and learning platform for children. They needed games that make Arabic practice something children want to come back to — first as arcade games inside their web and mobile app, then as live games where children play against each other.

What we built

Arcade games, 2021 onward. 2D educational arcade games in Unity WebGL, built to run both on the website and inside Asafeer's mobile app webview.

A family of real-time multiplayer games. Children join a room and play live:

  • Boat Racing (سباق الزوارق) — a race where correct answers drive your boat.
  • The Last Battle of the Birds (معركة العصافير الأخيرة) — an arena battle.
  • The Wonderful Elephant Wheel (عجلة الأفيال الرائعة)
  • Cow Farm

Each game is a light Construct 3 client talking to a Colyseus real-time server hosted on Asafeer's own infrastructure: rooms, matchmaking, a live in-match scoreboard and an all-time leaderboard on the platform.

Getting Arabic right

  • Arabic interface throughout, laid out right-to-left.
  • Western digits, at Asafeer's request — their house convention across all games.
  • Recorded Arabic audio for word games: pronunciation is the lesson, so no text-to-speech.
  • Player names checked against Asafeer's own profanity filter.

Result

A growing set of live multiplayer games on 3asafeer.com, all running on a server Asafeer controls — and a five-year working relationship that is still going.
