Five browser games for Phunics, the phonics reading programme from USA English, that help young children learn English words — built in close collaboration with Toby Johnson and Victoria Tang.
A band of children who each stand for a value — love, faith, kindness and more — designed so children can see those values and connect with them, plus the video used to pitch the project to investors.
Love Kids Band is a children's band built on faith-based values. Values like love and faith are abstract, and children connect with characters, not ideas. The aim was to show those values in character form, so children can actually see them and connect with them.
Working in close collaboration with Lamar Williams, we helped design the band: a group of children, each one standing for a value — Faith, Goodness, Joy, Kindness, Love, Peace and Wisdom. There are eight characters in all, with two for Wisdom. Each plays an instrument or sings — violin, guitars, drums, keyboard, vocals — so a value becomes a bandmate a child can recognise, remember and want to join in with.
We also made the animated film the project used to pitch to investors — the video at the top of this page. It puts the values into story, from adventures under the sea to children helping the people around them, so investors could see the idea at work rather than read about it.
Characters are part of our 2D art service — concept designs, mock-ups and finished 2D art — whether they are for a game, an app, or a children's brand like this one.
Hover over a character, or tap it, to see them play.
